Chilly January cooking

We’ve had a weekend of cooking up supplies for the cold nights ahead. First I used up an over-order of bananas by making banana bread.

Then we’ve made squash soup & chilli con carne. I had to chop up some of our chilli supply to go in these. This was a condition when I persuaded my husband that we should buy the beautiful whole chillies from
Sicily, rather than the easy to use crushed ones – I’m in charge of cutting them up! But I do find then incredibly attractive & so did a quick sketch of them. I thought I’d need to add pen, but think it looks ok without.

The main difficulty was my husband extracting a couple more while I was drawing them!…
