Seville oranges

A bright and warming aspect of January each year is that this is when Seville oranges are in season.

I always make it into marmelade, and spent this morning preparing my annual batch. It felt particularly warming with the snow outside.

I also made a Seville orange polenta cake. I make it with normal oranges at other times, but it’s great with these more bitter oranges, plus a bit of marmelade on the side!
